Coder Academy to launch new Cyber Security Bootcamp to combat skills shortage in Australia, proudly supported by industry experts, Solista

Set to bridge the cyber security talent gap

Award-winning data management company, Solista, has partnered with Australia’s premier technology training and coding bootcamp provider, Coder Academy, to help launch a new Cyber Security bootcamp for IT professionals and students looking to advance their skills in an ever-evolving landscape. The Cyber Security bootcamp is set to launch in mid-September 2018 in Sydney, Melbourne, and Brisbane.

Much like Coder Academy’s coding bootcamps offering an accredited Diploma of IT — launched in March 2016 — the Cyber Security course will also revolve around its immersive and industry-driven learning model. Designed for individuals with some previous IT experience (e.g. Cert IV, work experience), the Cyber Security Bootcamp will be a full time, intensive, 27-week program with a four-week internship in the final term.

The course, generated by Cyber Science Pty Ltd, will cover material such as Hacking Fundamentals, Python Programming for Security, Web App Penetration, Mobile Security, Infrastructure and Privilege Escalation Linux amongst other things. Full program details are to be finalised by mid-June.

Cyber security is the fastest growing field of the information technology sector in which positions can’t be filled fast enough. With the amount of data breaches, malware samples and hackers growing every year, the industry is frantically trying to employ experts who can defend against this new wave of cyber-crime. With estimates of 3.5 million unfilled cyber jobs by 2021, Coder Academy’s new Cyber Security bootcamp course offers a great opportunity to be trained to undertake a high paying, vitally important position.

Noel Allnutt, Co-Founder of Solista said: “The non-profit information advocacy group ISACA recently predicted that we will face a global shortage of two million cyber security professionals by 2019. With the update of recent cyber regulations in Australia, it is now more important than ever for organisations to have a resilient cyber security strategy.

“Solista’s collaboration with Coder Academy will educate and arm professionals with the skills and knowledge that these organisations are currently looking for, helping to bridge the gap between the increasing threat of cyber-attacks and the predicted talent shortage.”
