When we started on our journey with chozun 途赞 we were on a mission to solve a pain-point we, and as we found out in validating, many others had experienced when travelling. A way to easily discover book & access relevant places to go and what to do in a destination.
Sure, when tourism first moved to the digital age with booking, comparison, and review sites, it was great to feel empowered by the wisdom of the crowd! But very quickly, it started to get noisy, too many disparate opinions from travellers plagued these tools making them overly subjective, not to mention having to trawl through a raft of fake reviews. With no context around the person or conditions of the review it can make them even more irrelevant — and recommendations from friends sometimes work but often they don’t have the same tastes and unique interests. Planning a trip has become a tiresome task leaving most travellers to only see and do things the generic way — missing out on the hidden gems. We knew the choice paralysis & obvious tourist traps people faced was solvable, and we knew with our backgrounds in tech we could solve it.
Since then, we have built a beta product that has allowed us to start solving the problem, matching you based on your tastes and interests using AI & data science. Currently, existing platforms control their data in an outdated centralised and commercialised way, with skewed, fake information and no reward for users nor providers, as well as charging pricey booking fees and often no real-time understanding of availability — but because of the efficiency of blockchain, fees will be significantly reduced and payments from chozun to providers will be quick and easy.
