Meet the Writer: Alfred, Blockchain Specialist, Developed and Published 50+ Android Games

So let’s start! Tell us a bit about yourself. For example, name, profession, and personal interests.

Ciao, I’m Alfred from Italy, a senior Android developer with several apps and during the pandemic, I set the goal to create and publish an android game every day of my quarantine, which led me to develop and publish more than 50 android games.

I’m a blockchain specialist, down in the rabbit hole from 2011 with my little Bitcoin full node, and I choose to share my knowledge with others. I have written several books about crypto and blockchain like Mastering EOS (free if You have Kindle Unlimited), Mastering DeFi, and Mastering NFT - Practical guide for beginners and advanced.

Interesting! What was your latest Hackernoon Top story about?

My latest top story was about a great team, Equilibrium, a project that develop on the EOS blockchain and other blockchains, and in that article, the focus was a guide on how to make free transactions on the Polkadot blockchain.

Do you usually write on similar topics? If not, what do you usually write about?

My main goal, as I said before, is to share my knowledge in particular on blockchain and crypto themes, cause we can not always find good articles or guides about blockchain and crypto.

Often I make guides for airdrops so people can discover a new token and let them sell or whatever they want, and this is useful especially for people who have economic difficulties so they can get something for free.

Great! What is your usual writing routine like (if you have one?)

The first thing that I use are data about a topic and merge all the data in something that can be

easily understandable for people. Then it’s time to make some screens to show the process, like in a guide or tutorial, the different steps to do for getting a token or a crypto, how to set up a crypto wallet, and so on.

After the article is ready I check for mistakes and finally I search for an image, usually from Pixabay, to modify with other things and text sometimes.

Being a writer in tech can be a challenge. It’s not often our main role, but an addition to another one. What is the biggest challenge you have when it comes to writing?

Writing articles can be easy but hides a potential risk on the readers’ side. In fact, if an article is too short, you can’t be professional and give the right information but if is it too long it becomes boring to read and most people will stop reading after a while.

Another “issue“ or concern is about the topic itself. Some people prefer to write behind the news but I prefer, mostly, to write guides, tutorials, and something not already done, presenting new content that is useful for all.

What is the next thing you hope to achieve in your career?

As a freelance and news reporter writer, a big goal is to become an editor in chief in some tech journal. I am truly inspired by my mentor Amelia Tomasicchio. As a book writer one goal I have is to sell at least 40K copies of my books (did you know that I have written 68 books?).

Wow, that’s admirable. Now, something more casual: What is your guilty pleasure of choice?

Not having bought more crypto.

Do you have a non-tech-related hobby? If yes, what is it?

Of course, one of my passions is Japan and its culture. In fact, I have been studying Japanese for over 11 years and I have also created a Japanese kanji dictionary among my applications, Senbei Jisho (which I am updating; the name comes from a Japanese cracker) and in order not to miss anything I also climbed Mount Fuji.

More articles about crypto and blockchain and some teams that leverage this technology because they are the pioneers of this news digital world, like Satoshi Nakamoto more than a decade ago.
