TLDRvia the TL;DR App

While having a steady flow of work is essential to any company’s growth, constantly staying busy isn’t always a good sign. Granted, being a small business owner requires sacrifices and that can mean acting as your own accountant, office manager, sales rep, and everything in between. Eventually, however, the natural scope of a business will grow and the tasks at hand will become larger and more demanding; this is when it’s time to delegate.

Those with the entrepreneurial spirit tend to be independent idealists with just a dash of stubbornness. Finding their calling by paving their own way to success, starting a business requires dedication and sacrifice. Many new businesses don’t survive their first year, but CEOs with honed delegation skills boost their odds of success right out of the gate. Even further down the line, managers with developed delegation skills have been shown to generate 33% more revenue for their operations than those who rely on micromanaging to assign responsibility. Smart managers understand that real delegation begins on a personal level and the value of getting to know their employees and colleagues. Understanding the work styles, time constraints, and skills of employees is essential. This opens up the door for intuitively delegating the right work to the right employees and is what separates just a boss from a true leader.
