With 8 live-action Spider-Man movies, it could get a little confusing when discussing the web slinger’s films. Three different actors have portrayed the character, and these different Spider-Men have had different supporting characters, villains, and storylines.

But the Spider-Man we’re going to be focusing on is the most recent one; the one portrayed by actor Tom Holland.

This Spider-Man is a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), so he routinely interacts with other Marvel characters and is affected by storylines that happen in other movies.

It’s not super necessary to watch a ton of the MCU films to know what’s going on with Spider-Man’s story, but some are essential.

With that in mind, here are the Tom Holland Spider-Man movies in order.

All of the Tom Holland Spider-Man Movies in Order

  1. Captain America: Civil War
  2. Spider-Man: Homecoming
  3. Spider-Man: Far From Home
  4. Spider-Man: No Way Home

1. Captain America: Civil War (2016)

“Okay, what the hell is this? This is supposed to be a Spider-Man listicle and the first movie on this list isn’t even a Spidey one.”

Yeah, that looks weird. But it makes sense because this is the movie that Tom Holland’s Spider-Man debuted in.

So, during this time, the Avengers were arguing with each other. Captain America and his side were doing what they thought was right, and the Iron Man side was doing the same thing.

But things were getting more heated, and it led to a physical battle between the two opposing groups. Enter Spider-Man. The teenage superhero is recruited by one of the groups to help them in this conflict.

Spider-Man isn’t in this movie for long, but he does leave a lasting impression. And him being in this movie jumpstarts his own MCU trilogy.

2. Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017)

Coming out only one year after his debut in Civil War, Spider-Man: Homecoming would be Tom Holland’s first solo Spider-Man film. After fighting alongside and against the Avengers, Peter Parker returns to his “normal” life as a New York teenager.

He goes to school, hangs out with his best friend, and he crushes on a girl. Just normal teenage things. Oh, and he also fights crime on the side. But the friendly neighborhood Spider-Man bites more than he can chew when he comes across a hi-tech group of thieves led by the Vulture.

Things quickly become messy and Spider-Man gets a lesson in what it means to be a hero with responsibilities.

After this, Spider-Man appears in Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame. These are must-sees to understand what happens in the following movie.

3. Spider-Man: Far From Home (2019)

Not to spoil the Avengers movies, but everyone’s lives change; including Spider-Man’s. In Spider-Man: Far From Home, after so much craziness, Peter Parker is eager to go on a school field trip to Europe. But this is a superhero movie after all, and things don’t go his way.

Reluctantly, Spider-Man has to put his school trip on hold to save the day. But he’s not alone. Joining him on this mission is Mysterio, a new character that seemingly appears out of nowhere. Also on their side is the always-mysterious Nick Fury.

The events of this movie lead directly to Spider-Man: No Way Home.

4. Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021)

A lot can’t be said about this movie without spoiling it, so here’s an abbreviated summary.

All of the cards are stacked against not only Spider-Man but Peter Parker as well. In his desperation, he turns to his fellow Avenger, Doctor Strange. Well, nothing ever seems to go Peter’s way and his situation takes a turn for the worse.

Numerous villains are looking to put Spider-Man’s head on a platter, so he’ll have to team up with unlikely allies.

This marks the end of the Tom Holland Spider-Man movies; for now, of course. These movies always make a bajillion dollars (yes, this is a technical term), so as long as people keep watching them, they’ll keep making them.

There’s no guarantee that they’ll make a fourth movie, but it’s a safe bet to make.
