We’re excited to interview Eran Elhanani, whose article has recently become the Top story on Hackernoon.

So let’s start! Tell us a bit about yourself. For example, name, profession, and personal interests.

My name is Eran Elhanani, and I’m the Co-Founder of BullPerks (a decentralized VC and multichain launchpad, currently ranking as the #2 IDO investment platform in the industry) and GamesPad (the ultimate gaming, NFT, and metaverse ecosystem).

I’m also the Founder of Part One Capital, advisor on multiple crypto projects, angel investor, speaker, and previous Venture Partner in a boutique VC. My personal interests are martial arts, traveling, and entrepreneurship.

Interesting! What was your latest Hackernoon Top story about?

My latest story featured on Hackernoon was about why the future of gaming is Play-and-Earn and not Play-to- Earn. GameFi has recently experienced a significant downturn, which has led to the emergence of conceptual alternatives.

None has been more compelling than the play-and-earn (P&E) model, which – rather than focusing on value extraction – is built around rewarding gamers for playing games that they would anyway be playing for fun.

Do you usually write on similar topics? If not, what do you usually write about?

I like to write about gaming, the metaverse, and investing. You can read my other articles on these topics on VentureBeat, Benzinga, Yahoo Finance, and Forbes.

Great! What is your usual writing routine like (if you have one?)

I don’t have a writing routine. From time to time, I just share my opinions on different topics in my articles. Once the idea comes to my mind, I just write about it.

Being a writer in tech can be a challenge. It’s not often our main role, but an addition to another one. What is the biggest challenge you have when it comes to writing?

The challenge is to make the article interesting for people, to motivate them to read it, and not make it too boring or technical.

What is the next thing you hope to achieve in your career?

I hope my companies will continue to do well and grow. Once I achieve that, then, I guess, it will be about giving back and mentoring.

Wow, that’s admirable. Now, something more casual: What is your guilty pleasure of choice?

I try to eat healthy usually and stay fit. But then, every now and then, I will eat pasta, burger, pizza, or ice cream. It can’t be too healthy.

Do you have a non-tech-related hobby? If yes, what is it?

Yes, martial arts. I’ve been practicing different martial arts for many years, as well as other sports.

What can the Hacker Noon community expect to read from you next?

I try to find controversial opinions or trends to cover in my articles. I don’t aim to impress readers with my knowledge of the subject but rather create a discussion and a dialog with them.

What’s your opinion on HackerNoon as a platform for writers?

I think HackerNoon is a very progressive platform for sharing knowledge and discussing different topics related to the digital world, from fintech and crypto to the metaverse and product development. It has a broad audience of engaged readers and picks great articles.

Thanks for taking time to join our “Meet the writer” series. It was a pleasure. Do you have any closing words?

I would like to thank you for this opportunity and hope to continue to deliver top articles and interesting reads.
