On February 24, 2022, the entire world was shocked and appalled by images of Russian bombs hitting Ukrainian cities. The war that started 8 years ago in Eastern Ukraine expanded and came into millions of homes of the country striving for freedom, peace, and prosperity as a part of the European family. Shock, confusion, fear, pain, and anger were the prevailing emotions at the time. The entire world held their breath to see what would happen next.
Slightly more than 2 months since those events, it is now crystal clear that Ukraine, its people, and its government are fighting with all they have. It has also become evident that the world will not stand aside when the Russian political leadership, its armed forces, and a sizeable part of the population instigate and support crimes against humanity in the neighboring nation. As governments and politicians of various countries started imposing sanctions, millions of people, communities, and companies joined in an effort to help Ukraine and its people.
The crypto community became one of the first to take a stand against Russian aggression and offer multiple forms of aid to Ukrainians. It is no wonder, as Ukraine has been amongst the centers of the crypto community from exchanges to companies, from developers to traders. For instance, the Global Crypto Adoption Index estimated that at least $8.0 billion worth of crypto was entering and exiting the country on an annual basis before the full-scale Russian aggression. The daily volume of cryptocurrency transactions reached $150.0 million, and multiple companies were holding events focusing on crypto and blockchain technology.
The government of Ukraine called for help, and the crypto community responded. As of March 25, 2022, the community has raised over $65 million for humanitarian aid and in support of the Ukrainian armed forces.
The support of peace and stability in general, as well as Ukraine specifically, demonstrated the spirit of the community fighting for a common good. The removal of the bureaucratic red tape to support people in need and protect fundamental human values is as important as ever in these trying times.
DAOs, NFT platforms, and other projects developing Web3 were actively donating crypto and NFTs to the government of Ukraine. Not to mention the appearance of creative NFT collections like Ukraine DAO, Art Under Artillery, Ukraine`s Angels, etc.

Being the Malta-based global crypto ecosystem with R&D in Kyiv, we were firm in our decision not to stand aside in the face of a humanitarian crisis in Ukraine. Kyrrex condemned Russian war crimes against the population and civilian infrastructure. Since the beginning of the war, our team donated $100,000 to the affected citizens and soldiers and launched the Kyrrex Charitable Foundation. The funds collected through the foundation will continue supporting the population and the Ukrainian Armed Forces during this time of war. Afterward, our goal is to direct the proceeds to support the projects aimed at rebuilding infrastructure.
