With the evolution of the crypto industry, the concept of earning while playing games has taken the industry by storm in the form of GameFi. To add to the ever-growing list of progressions within the crypto world, IGO launchpads are helping accelerate the growth of the GameFi industry.

The Building Blocks of IGO

Before jumping into the new buzz around IGO launchpads, it is to understand what GameFi actually is. A play on words, GameFi is the marriage between gaming and finance, allowing users to earn as they play. GameFi allows players to earn rewards like tokens or NFTs in-game by completing tasks, levelling up, or trading in-game assets for tokens on a marketplace. But, GameFi isn’t just great for gamers but investors looking for great returns as well.

Not to be confused with Initial Coin Offering (ICO), Initial Game Offerings (IGOs) give interested individuals an opportunity to gain early access to invest in GameFi projects. As with many GameFi releases, the earlier one invests, the higher chance of greater returns. This way, developers secure funding and investors secure lower entry prices for tokens; it’s a win-win situation for both. Albeit a new concept, a few platforms have already jumped to the opportunity of the IGO space, including Final Round, Seedify, Enjin Starter and Gamestarter.

Final Round

Being the new kid on the block, the ‘Final Round’ launchpad has recently been released by none other than UniX Gaming, in partnership with industry titans DAO Maker and SL2 Capital. As UniX Gaming is currently one of the most prominent gaming guilds within the play-to-earn (Play2Earn) space, it is no surprise the news of  ‘Final Round’ has created a buzz within the GameFi community. One of the first games to be launched on ‘Final Round’ will be Delysium - the first truly playable AAA blockchain MMO game. Similarly to Seedify, ‘Final Round’ works on a tier system, with 5-tiers classified under Common, Uncommon, Rare, Epic and Legendary. With the fresh launch of ‘Final Round’, UniX Gaming is now set to be a full-on gaming ecosystem, making them the first gaming guild of its kind.

Seedify

Having launched in 2021, Seedify has had an exceptionally positive entry into the IGO space, having hosted 4 IGOs within their first six months, all being a success. The Seedify launchpad is known for its specially curated IGO, which has progressed from a three-tier system to better refined nine-tier system. The premise is simple; the more Seedify tokens you own, the higher your pool weight and tier. Higher tiers result in higher potential returns. Safety comes first at Seedify, meaning that you will have to go through a short KYC (Know Your Customer) verification process before getting started.

Enjin Starter

The Enjin platform, on which the Enjin Starter launchpad is built,  lives and breathes blockchain gaming, the metaverse and now, IGOs. Their technology promises no gas fees, carbon-negative NFT and smart contract support. Although Enjin Starter is still a young launchpad (developed in 2021), the Enjin platform is well established, which gives us positive hope that their new project within the IGO space will be a great success.

Gamestarter

Serving as a financing platform, Gamestarter runs its IGOs slightly differently than the rest in the industry. Firstly, instead of receiving your investment return in tokens as on the other launchpads, you will be receiving freely tradable NFTs. Gamestarter strongly believes that these NFTs may hold more value than tokens, giving investors a higher chance of returns. Additionally, Gamestarter only goes ahead with IGO projects if the total capacity of the required investment is reached. If the target goal is not reached, the project will not go ahead.

Final Thoughts

All four of the above IGO launchpads have proven through their current and projected success that the revolution of GameFi is only starting to boom. Each launchpad works on the different platform's tokens, possessing a different method of running its projects while allowing investors and players to decide which launchpad works best. As an investor, IGO launchpads within GameFi are a no-brainer to get into. If not now, then when?
