TLDRYesterday my husband entered the room while Ellen was singing 'Do a Deer' [during the virtual editorial meeting]. He looked at me with such surprise and left. Later he asked me: "Sidra what was that meeting about?" πŸ˜‚ "Why was someone singing, do you sing too?" etc πŸ˜‚:via the TL;DR App

This Slogging thread by Sidra Ijaz, Ellen, Amy, Linh and Kien occurred in Hackernoon's official #only-at-hackernoon channel, and has been edited for readability.
Intro/Clarification:
If you're a person who likes music and loves to sing, it's likely that for you various life occurrences will motivate your brain to subconsciously start singing a song.
If you are preoccupied with a task, and not paying attention, sometimes you might start to sing out loud.
Such an occurrence happened during a business meeting. Ellen was scheduled to showcase something via the Zoom screen share feature.
As everyone waited for things to load, Ellen filled the silence with whatever came to mind, which included saying something like, "Let's start at the very beginning," which just so happens to be the first line of a song from the Sound of Music.
I noticed the awkward silence that followed and decided it was funny, so I committed to a few more lines. If you've heard this song as much as I have, it's hard to not sing it.
Evidently, Sidra's husband walked in on her meeting, and without context, was amazed at such things happening during a business meeting.
Just to clarify, I don't frequently do this. But the laughs we had were worthwhile.
Further to that, one of my neighbors randomly decided to be super extra - very unusual for where I live- and decided to blast music at questionable hours in the morning.
Which lead an already sleep-deprived Ellen into a self-soothing state. Such a state frequently involves singing.

He waited until 11 this time but I will keep texting my landlord until he gets wireless headphones. I can't imagine being that obnoxious. I own DJ equipment and I know better than to behave like that in a building full of people.

Kien it's from The Sound of Music. Also, I have no idea why I started singing it. My brain doesn't function properly in the morning.

*Linh showed Ellen the way to create the thread. Ellen has new skills. Probably all of Ellen's published articles will be threads now.
*No deer were harmed in the making of this Slogging thread.
