TLDRTake inspiration from one of the 50+ writing templates to get started writing your next story. Write about a technology everyone uses and why they should be wary. Take a look at past top stories and brainstorm story ideas from the following angles: your Twitter thread, your technical expertise and your perspective on current events. Aim to create a top story that's also evergreen content, like a quick tutorial about the last thing you learned and how you’ve learned in Java Algorithms.via the TL;DR App

2022 was the year that kept on giving. Drama. Chaos. Intrigue. It was the year that billionaires f*cked up, crypto saw a meltdown, and thousands of employees woke up to a widely different macro landscape. At least one of your favorite internet personalities had a public spat on Twitter, which somehow took precedence over some of the worst climate disasters in decades, and not to forget: a full-fledged military war.

In between all the trolling and sh*tposting, there were moments of hope and pure joy. Argentina __reclaimed glory__by winning the FIFA world cup in a nail-biting final against France. Brendan Fraser made a comeback. And we saw the very first images from the James Webb Space Telescope. But on a molecular level, we hope you (yes, you!) had a chance to work on your goals and are ready to welcome 2023 with even more ambitious new year’s resolutions.

As we bid the year goodbye, what was a story that YOU thought was interesting or did not receive as much attention as it deserved? Was there something new that you learned or unlearned? Became passionate (or unpassionate) about? What would you tell your past self from a year ago? Is there something others can learn from your failure or success?

What about the year ahead? What new challenges are you looking forward to in the coming year? Tell us your goals, your hopes, your dreams. What are you excited for (or dreading?). Let HackerNoon be the journal you use to keep track of progress and tally them as you embark on new adventures.

What does it take to lead?

Twitter’s new owner (and somehow still the world’s richest man) Elon Musk has had his way ever since acquiring the social media company earlier this year. But now he wants to call it quits. We’d opined earlier that it would have made more sense for Musk to leave former CEO Parag Agrawal in the driving seat before asking a successor to take over, but noooooo, Musk wanted Agrawal out first thing he entered HQ.

Which begs the question: does being a billionaire automatically make you a good leader? How would you rate Musk’s performance so far? What do you think of his decision to step down as Twitter CEO now that it’s clear he’s made a hotch-potch of the entire situation.

And if you’re feeling truly adventurous, do you think Musk is a visionary? ;)

What goes up, must come down.

Or so has been the case with crypto. Your favorite <enter cryptocurrency and NFT here> (probably) took a beating this year, exacerbated by problems at exchanges such as FTX and Coinbase. The crypto meltdown has been the talk of town, but if you happen to be one of those savvy investors who was able to make a buck, tell us all about it. If you lost money, let’s hear those cautionary tales too.

That said, what do you think is the future of crypto? Do you have any advice for investors looking to jump in on the crypto bandwagon? Were you impacted by the downfall of FTX, and do you have any bitterness towards Sam-Bankman Fried aka SBF?

Pour your heart out here.

Me-Me-Me-Me-MetaVeRs(us) the Real World

Ah, the metaverse. Once a dream. Now a failed reality.

Given that John Carmack has severed his relationship with VR and left Papa Zuck all alone in building his vision for the future, what do you think is going to happen next? Is metaverse truly the pinnacle of Web 3.0 or are we just aren’t there yet? What needs to change for the metaverse to become an ideal reality? What are the moral and ethical implications of living inside a world within a world? Let us know!

And that’s that! We’re a week away before the year ends. We hope you had a great year, and we’re looking forward to your submissions. Happy Holidays!
