How should the smartphone evolve? (what technological advancements would you like to see) Limarc
Personally, I don't think we've seen much innovation happen since the first iPhone. Sure we have better graphics, camera, memory, RAM, internet speeds, etc.But other than foldable screens, nothing has really changed the basic design. We are just improving on aspects we already have and know about.
What do you want to see for the smartphone to evolve to the next level?
David
The smartphone will be replaced by no phone at all, eventually. First it'll be screen projections, and then itll be an interface connected directly to our brains. Limarc
By screen projections David do you mean like a holograph that comes out of a watch-like device? That’s kind of what I’m picturing too. Also, I’m very excited to see the AR glasses market evolve…I can’t wait to be honest. I think that’s a great way to keep phone screens private from prying eyes that maybe standing next to you on the train and what not.

^ every object will be your handheld phone, even your credit card - you'll just see it/use it via lenses of some sort. a la https://twitter.com/avstorm/status/1249950879807045633?s=21 David
mario that looks almost possible today ^^^ David
Limarc in terms of picturing screens that appear out of nowhere, I think the show Upload did a good job of how they *could look Dane
I think I'm on the no-phone bandwagon. What I really want is augmented reality with a highly configurable AI bot that integrates directly into my brain. Limarc
Dane in theory I love that. But the tech would have to be immaculate to even think about it no? When your phone crashes, overheats, has bugs, the worst case scenario is you have a paperweight. When a chip in your brain has issues…that kinda scares me.
Dane
We don't have to go from phones to brain chips in a single iteration. The evolution can be slow and gradually migrate in a safe and more predictable way.
